Turn off auto-capitalisation in form fields on iOS

You might have noticed when using form fields (text and email) on an iOS device that the first letter is set to uppercase. I find this a little annoying as most email addresses start with a lowercase letter. If you need to, you can override the default setting but using the autocapitalize attribute.

You can turn on or off auto capitalisation.

autocapitalize="on" or autocapitalize="off"

The HTML markup for an email input field would look something like this:

  <input type="email"  autocapitalize="off"></input>
